ACADEMY OF LITERACY
About the Academy of Literacy
The Academy of Literacy (AoL) was designed to deepen understanding of adolescent literacy best practices for middle and high school content area teachers. AoL strives to foster a collaborative culture where teachers engage in authentic activities, make informed choices, and reflect on their learning - both individually and as a member of a community of learners. Since teaching that emphasizes active engagement helps students to better process and retain information, AoL sessions will highlight interactive and motivating strategies. AoL is designed for secondary level content teachers, instructional coaches, and school administrators. The AoL expectation is for participants to commit to attending three (3) consecutive years.
