LEADING FOR INSTRUCTION
About Leading for Instruction
Leading for Instruction is a program designed to provide building level leaders (principals and assistant principals) with in-depth knowledge to support their instructional leadership.
Timeframe
Leading for Instruction is offered quarterly. Each session is offered three times to accommodate the various levels of leadership:
  • Elementary principals
  • Middle school principals
  • Assistant principals from all levels
Focus
Each year a new overall focus for all sessions will be determined, but all support the Instructional Leadership needs of the site administrator. Examples of focus topics are:
  • Learning to use multiple sources of data to plan, assess, and monitor instructional improvements
  • Understanding literacy and numeracy content depth
  • Learning to engage building staff in ongoing study of current best practices and to use this knowledge to inform decisions
